Harpers Bazaar posted an article about the 12 best spring/summer 2020 trends. I’m not one for following every.single.trend because I prefer classic staples. That being said, one of this years upcoming trends is going to be….drumroll… “60s wallpaper” prints!
This made me leap for joy because mixing prints has always been one of my favorite looks and I think it IS a classic. Mixing prints can be elegant and it’s truly a difficult look to nail. However, if it’s done properly, your outfit can be a work of art.
I’ve compiled a guide of the pieces to grab that’s inspired by one of the masters at print mixing, Olivia Palermo. Let’s take a look at some of My Favorite Olivia Looks! As always, every photo is clickable and will take you directly to the linked item for easy shopping!
Why this works:
When I look at her outfit, the first thing I see is the bright red of the coat. Which then leads me to the bright red in the skirt. Then I see the blue in the skirt, which takes me back to the blue in the coat. Next is the pink in the coat, that leads my eyes to the pink of her blouse. It’s truly impeccable and a work of magic, a great timeless mix of prints and colors.

WHY This works:
Everything about this look is magical, isn’t it?! The inverted colors of the stripes are flawless and pull out the navy tones of the floral coat. Perfection.
