Creating your own Character with your Capsule Wardrobe

I LOVE Pinterest. But there is a major problem with that platform. Pinterest excels in helping people find new fashion items for—stay-at-home women who like monograms. But tons of other people use Pinterest, or would, if it included more things that they would want to see or shop for. When you search fashion tips, most of it seems dated and there’s a huge platform missing— other fashion styles!

You can easily find gothic, steampunk, southern-sweet, and athleisure. But what about clothes for the modern, non-conforming citizen that just wants to feel good and explore their options? What about the woman who is just starting a job and would never wear a skirt suit because it’s not 2002?!

For the next few blogs, I’m going to try to focus on that aspect. Filling the fashion void of Pinterest for other characters that exist in our world.

The clothes I’ve pinned today, you can mix these pieces with items in your own wardrobe to fit WHATEVER style you like to wear.

Or, you can get every piece here and begin building your own wardrobe with pieces that actually say something about who you are. All images take you directly to the site to purchase (these are not ads).

This jumpsuit is a steal from Zara. Priced at 89, it cannot be beat. Zara has also been so brilliant at how they style their items. Look at this jumpsuit with the heels and the silk bandana, all tones of white.

This bandana would be a great addition to your wardrobe. Would be so cute styled with an all denim look and a white tee. Also would look great with that jumpsuit above! $12.50

These espadrilles area great summer shoe and I love the ankle straps. I was inspired by the jumpsuit look above, but I feel like these are a bit more interesting that a white stiletto.

Everyone needs a tweed blazer in their arsenal. This one is from Zara, so it’s on the cheaper side without a liner. However, you can style this with heels, you can style this with chinos, you can style this with a white crop top and jeans, you can style this with this fab all black look underneath—what I’m trying to say is this Blazer fits into all characters and it’s only $89

This muscle tank is 100. For only $26 you can get 1 in black, grey, and white. I’d recommend sizing up to get the full effect. Also, this is a casual French tuck if you’ve been wondering what I mean by it,

These shorts by Agolde belong in every person’s dream closet. Not too short, but just enough taste that allows it to say something about the person wearing them. A little pricey at $168

You don’t have to worry about this piece selling out because it’s listed as coming soon! Jump on that waiting list asap because this jacket is to die for. Only $69 and can upgrade any denim look for sure. I’m thinking black tee underneath and black denim Levis.

These oversized tees from Everlane have tons of colors and sizes and are only $28. This can be paired with a light French tuck in to the front, a matching tonal belt, with black baggy chinos and be used for a more modern, casual take. These tees go a long way and I loveeee them.

I have these jeans and truly feel like they are the ultimate I-can-fit-into-whatever-category-wardrobe jean. They can look good on any body shape. If you want a baggier fit, just size up 2 sizes. If you want it fitted, purchase a size down. $78, oh I have these and love <3

Fleece hoodie $75.

I’d go ahead and get those pants too to style with that hoodie! Can also be used to dress up a basic white long tee with a neat belt and loafers/flats

There’s this new type of jacket, well, new to me because I love it, called a Chore Jacket and I can’t get enough of it. It’s androgynous yet also can liven up any wardrobe as a statement piece. $128

These little $125 loafers belong in every woman’s closet. I also think they’re reminiscent of Frye loafers but half the price.

When it comes to jewelry, I like to keep it simple but like to have something to break up the shirt at the neckline. This chain/carrot combo is interesting and simple and does the trick. only $20

I love a double buckle belt and this one from Zara is only $30. This would look fab with the black denim jeans I’ve shared and the tweed blazer.

This skipper’s cap is on sale for $17.99 and is honestly perfect with any outfit. Zara has it in both black and blue.
